Celebrating Cultural Exchange at the 2024 ‘Japan through Diplomats’ Eyes’ Photo Exhibition
Roppongi Hills Cafe, Tokyo – On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the winners of the 27th annual ‘Japan through Diplomats’ Eyes’ Photo Exhibition were celebrated in a ceremony graced by Her Imperial Highness Princess Takamado, Honorary President of the exhibition. The first prize was awarded to Jackie Lou Ong, Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, for her contribution “Heritage in a coin” under this year’s theme, “Inspiring Japan.”
Ambassador Rachad Bouhlal, Chairperson of the Executive Committee, delivered a heartfelt speech during the Award Ceremony and Opening Reception, emphasizing the event’s role as a bridge for cultural exchange and friendship among nations.
“This exhibition has grown into a vibrant platform that reflects the unique perspectives of diplomats and their families as they immerse themselves in Japan’s rich culture and lifestyle,” Ambassador Bouhlal remarked.
With 67 participants from 42 countries, including 26 Ambassadors, this year’s submissions showcased a diverse and inspiring portrayal of Japan. The exhibition will travel to various cities across the country, offering more people the chance to experience this unique cultural initiative.
