New Lex Tokyo Revives the Legacy of Lexington Queen in Roppongi

Roppongi’s nightlife scene has received a major boost with the grand reopening of New Lex Tokyo, a revival of the legendary Lexington Queen. Once a favorite haunt of international celebrities, Hollywood stars, and fashion models, the iconic venue has been reimagined to blend its nostalgic charm with modern luxury.
Situated on the second floor of the Roppongi Rokumon Building, just steps from Roppongi Station, the club unveiled its sleek new design during a pre-opening event on March 19, ahead of its official launch in late April. A dedicated entrance leads guests through an orange-themed foyer, highlighted by a striking metallic wall adorned with the illuminated Lex Tokyo logo.
Inside, guests are immediately drawn to a large digital display showcasing photos of legendary figures who once frequented Lexington Queen, including Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Denzel Washington, Liza Minnelli, and Queen’s Freddie Mercury. Also featured is the club’s former producer Bill Hersey, whose influence on Tokyo’s international social scene remains legendary. Japanese soccer icon Kazuyoshi Miura, fondly known as “King Kazu,” shared his memories of celebrating victories at the club and extended his congratulations on its return.
The venue’s main floor balances elegance with a relaxed atmosphere, featuring five VIP seating areas, two royal VIP booths near the DJ booth, and a glass-enclosed VVIP room offering a prime view of the dance floor. The club’s centerpiece, a half-spherical mirror ball with aurora-inspired lighting, enhances the immersive experience.
The bar menu boasts over 50 drink options, including draft beer, highballs, and signature cocktails like Red Bull vodka, starting at 1,000 yen per drink. A premium selection of champagnes is also available.
For an added touch of exclusivity, private VVIP rooms come with their own elevator access, allowing celebrities and high-profile guests to enter discreetly. These rooms also feature karaoke facilities, ensuring entertainment beyond the dance floor.
During the pre-opening party, light gourmet finger foods were served to maintain an elegant ambiance, a feature the club plans to extend to future private events. International DJ YU VON GOESS, known for his experience in world-class clubs, promises to keep the dance floor alive with high-energy sets tailored to a diverse and upscale audience.
