Embassy Nights at the Tokyo American Club: Olé España
On March 22, the Spanish Embassy, in collaboration with The Tokyo American Club, hosted the glamorous and luxurious Embassy Nights Olé España evening party. This marked the inaugural event in a series of embassy night gatherings organized by the Tokyo American Club. The event welcomed guests to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Spanish culture, featuring music, dance, cuisine, and exceptional wines.
Ambassador Fidel Sendagorta Gómez del Campillo welcomed guests with a thoughtful speech, expressing gratitude to the Tokyo American Club for co-hosting the event. The evening commenced with a toast featuring Pere Ventura sparkling wine from Catalonia.
In addition to savoring Spanish cuisines and wines, attendees were treated to captivating Spanish art performances throughout the night.
Japanese professional pianist Azumi Nishizawa, currently residing in Spain, performed enchanting Spanish classical pieces that beautifully captured the essence of Spain. Her rendition of “Recuerdos de la Alhambra” in a piano version transported all to the picturesque streets of Granada.
Transitioning from the serene piano solo, guests were then enthralled by the passionate art form of flamenco. Samurai flamenco dancer Ken Nagata mesmerized the audience with a breathtaking flamenco performance.
Some fortunate attendees, selected through a lucky draw, received special gifts from the event sponsors. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the free flight tickets to Barcelona or Madrid, generously provided by main sponsor Cathay Pacific.
As the event drew to a close, Spanish ambassador Fidel Sendagorta Gómez del Campillo passed the baton to Jamaican ambassador Shorna-Kay M. Richards, who will be hosting the next embassy event.
