Grill& steak restaurant “Peter” in The Peninsula Tokyo will host a live jazz performance event “Center Stage” supported by Blue Note Tokyo on May 12, 2022.

The Center Stage series aims to spotlight talented up-and-coming Japanese jazz artists who will perform their music live at Peter whilst guests enjoy the restaurant’s signature steak and grilled fare crafted by Chef de Cuisine Masateru Kiriyama.

This time it will feature live music from Takeshi Ohbayashi, an acclaimed pianist who brings listeners an exhilarating concert experience. A native of Hiroshima, Ohbayashi studied film scoring and composition at Tokyo College of Music and was later awarded a scholarship to the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was awarded the Best Player Award and the Audience’s Favorite Award in the 2009 Yokohama Jazz Competition and in Fall 2009, he was selected to be a part of the opening class of the honorable Berklee Global Jazz Institute, led by Danilo Perez.

Tony Bennett, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Art Blakey, B.B. King, Natalie Cole, and the legendary Count Basie Orchestra have all graced Blue Note’s stages.
